One thing about alopecia areata I wish my friends knew is: I’ll have good days and bad days and sometimes those bad days I don’t want to be around anyone, even when I love them dearly.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my parents knew is: that I’m going to be okay.  Not to worry.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my co-workers knew is: I’ll have good days and bad days.

One thing about alopecia areata I wish my dermatologist knew is: Alopecia is more than injections or medications.  It’s more than finding treatment.  Sometimes you’ll need to ask your patients how they are REALLY doing.  Ask them how their mental and emotional health is, ask them if they’ve found a support group. If not, provide them the resources they need to feel better about themselves.
