Are You a Young Person Living with Alopecia Areata?

We Want to Hear About Your Experience with Social Media and Healthcare

Researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) are conducting a study to understand how adolescents and young adults with alopecia areata (AA) use social media, and how this affects the way young people get care and communicate with their healthcare providers.

If you have AA and are between the ages of 13 and 21, we invite you to participate in a brief survey and a one-on-one interview.

YOU MAY BE ELIGIBLE IF YOU:

  • Are between the ages of 13 and 21
  • Have been diagnosed with alopecia areata by a dermatologist or other healthcare provider
  • Can read and speak English

WHAT PARTICIPATION INVOLVES:

  • A short survey (about 5-7 minutes)
  • A one-on-one Zoom interview by phone or video call (about 30-45 minutes)
  • A $25 electronic gift card for participating in the study
  • Your participation is completely voluntary and confidential
