NAAF’s Youngest Legislative Mentor Scores Success

Stephanie Milewski, age 12, signed up to be a Legislative Mentor (a legislative advocate under voting age) this past November.  Just two months later, she successfully convinced her congressional representative, Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), to co-sponsor H.R. 4034, legislation which will reclassify wigs as durable medical equipment making them eligible for coverage under the Medicare Program. You too can help pass this legislation!  Just go to https://www.naaf.org/wigs/, enter your name and address, and a communication will be automatically sent to your lawmakers urging them to support these bills in the House and Senate.

“Alopecia affects you in all areas. It is so much harder than most people might think” says Stephanie. “I want kids with alopecia to always know that they are special and that their hair can’t define their life only they can. I want to be able to make a positive change for others who have alopecia. I am so grateful to be a Legislative Mentor.”
