To identify alopecia areata antibody targets.

Significance

This study may identify what the immune system is attacking that results in alopecia areata and possible therapy approaches to block the destruction of hair follicles.

Purpose

Sequence DNA, create libraries and look for candidate targets in alopecia areata blood samples from the Registry. Registry samples were processed at Columbia University and sent to Dr. Dai in November 2013. Dr .Dai will have results to share soon.
