Tribute Dinner to Honor Vera Price, MD
On April 16, the Cicatricial Alopecia Research Foundation (CARF) and the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) will be hosting a tribute dinner to honor Dr. Vera Price. Dr. Price is the founder of both patient organizations and dedicated her remarkable career to patients affected with hair loss. In 1981, NAAF was formed to support research to find a cure or acceptable treatment for alopecia areata, support those with the disease and educate the public. Then, in 2004, Dr. Price founded CARF, recognizing that patients with scarring alopecia face a different diagnosis and need unique support for this permanent hair loss condition. Both patient groups continue to flourish to this day, with thousands of patients benefitting from Dr. Price’s vision and mission to help this community. Dr. Price is considered one of the most renown hair expert physicians in the world, with more than 50 years in practice, countless publications, and mentor to hundreds of students, fellows, and residents.
Although humbled by this honor, Dr. Price’s main objective is to help raise funds to support the important missions of both organizations she holds so dear. Both CARF and NAAF are privileged to have this opportunity to publicly recognize Dr. Price for her tireless efforts in founding CARF and NAAF, her unparalleled devotion to her patients, and for touching so many lives with her wisdom and kindness.
