Advocacy

Taking action to improve lives

NAAF’s Advocacy Program mobilizes our community to build relationships with government decision-makers.

Through these relationships, we advocate for more research funding to produce better treatments and, eventually, a cure. We also push for policies to improve daily life for everyone in the alopecia areata community.

Ask Congress to Make Wigs More Affordable

Congress has introduced a bill that would expand insurance coverage for wigs. Email your representatives and urge them to pass it.

Get Trained to Become an Advocacy Leader

NAAF Advocacy supports local advocate teams in almost every state. Advocates work together to build legislator relationships and pass helpful legislation in Congress and their state legislature.

Our staff recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to lead these local advocate teams.
