My name is Allison Waggoner, host of Shop NBC and I have alopecia areata. When I was a little girl I wanted to be someone else, I wanted to be the girl with the hair.
Now as an adult I have decided join the National Alopecia Areata Foundation Board of Directors. This allows me the opportunity to expand awareness and be a vehicle through which individuals get informantion about the diagnosis, physical and emotional management, and most recent medical research concerning alopecia areata.
I have decided to commit myself to educating people and raising more money for a cure for alopecia areata.
I believe we resonate most closely with the things that affect us directly. Please help NAAF in creating avenues of influence and education for individuals and families living with alopecia areata.
Join me in making a monetary commitment to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation this holiday season at www.naaf.org/holiday2011.
Member, NAAF Board of Directors, 2012
P.S. Please help also by sending a personal message to Tell a friend about this campaign and help us in our efforts to fund research, build community and shape dialogue in the medical and research communities about alopecia areata.
