The National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2012. NAAF began in 1981 when thirteen people in Northern California formed a small local support group for individuals with alopecia areata, an autoimmune skin disease that leads to hair loss in children and adults. In the intervening years, NAAF has grown to be the leading and most trusted nonprofit organization serving people with alopecia areata, raising public consciousness of this disease, and searching for a cure.

Wine and Food Pairing

Winemakers Michael Eddy from Louis Martini Winery and David Hopkins from Bridlewood Estate Winery will be chaperoning the wine and food pairing experience. For David, guiding the wine means treating it gingerly, with an artist's hand. With more than 25 vintages behind him, David knows exactly how to find the best grapes in the hidden corners of the Central Coast. In the winery, Michael relishes each phase of the winemaking process. With a vision for the finished wine in mind at the outset, he experiments with modern techniques along the way.

David and Michael have taken our menu choices and paired them with select Northern California wines. Get a taste of Sonoma and the Central Coast with this selection of gourmet recipes, each created to pair beautifully with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Silent Auction
The Silent Auction will feature an array of high ticket items. Highlights Inlcude:

• an Argentinean wine trip featuring three nights at the Park Hyatt Buenos Aires and two nights at the Park Hyatt Mendoza with a private tour of the Bodega Catena Zapata winery;
• 2 rare, signed & framed THOMAS KINCADE Paintings.

The National Alopecia Areata Foundation’s 30th Anniversary celebration would not be possible without the dedication, loyalty, and enthusiasm shown by longtime NAAF Heroes. These individuals have devoted thousands of hours to help those with alopecia areata and we are grateful for their service during our first 30 years.
