Since 2006, the National Alopecia Areata Foundation has been closely working with NAAF Spokesperson and NBA player Charlie Villanueva with a focused objective; to show children that they have alopecia areata, alopecia areata does not have them, and in doing so inspire children with alopecia areata to keep reaching for their dreams. One of the most successful projects that NAAF and Villanueva have teamed up on is the Charlie’s Angels Meet and Greet Program, which brings local children and their families together when Villanueva’s Milwaukee Bucks play road games. This program lets families know that they are not alone while introducing young, impressionable children to a young man who has lived his dreams despite the adversity of alopecia areata.
